PRINCE OF PERSIA REDEMPTION: New Concept Art Shows Unique Monster and Titular Hero's Main Weapon
Shortly after the moderately successful launch of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands — which basically was a glorified movie tie-in game — the team at Ubisoft was trying to return the franchise back to its glory days.
Although said action-adventure game — titled Prince of Persia: Redemption — never saw the light of day, it hasn't stopped Concept Artist and Character Designer at Ubisoft Quebec Christophe Courrat from sharing some never-before-seen concept art from the cancelled project (seemingly inspired by 2010's God of War 3).
The aforementioned art puts the spotlight on a scorpion-like beast the titular hero would have encountered during his action-packed journey to save an ancient Persian city wrecked by a huge, Cthulhu-esque monster.
That's not all, as Courrat has also released a detailed 3D model of the brave hero's main weapon — a long dagger. If the recently discovered gameplay footage from Prince of Persia: Redemption is anything to go by, it would've basically worked like the Dagger Of Time, allowing him to turn back and manipulate time.
As a friendly reminder, the next entry in the (sadly forgotten) Prince of Persia game series is a unique VR experience created by Ubisoft Düsseldorf. Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is coming to over 300 escape rooms all round the world (located mostly in Western Europe) and doesn't have a release date yet.
