This Year's CALL OF DUTY Is Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Activision Confirms

Although we still know next to nothing about this year's entry in the Call of Duty series — at least officially — Activision has announced that the all-new FPS is being created by Treyarch Studios and Raven Software.

You read that right, the American publisher has finally confirmed Jason Schreier's report from May 2019, as Sledgehammer Games — the award-winning makers of 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and 2017's Call of Duty: WWII who were supposed to create the upcoming title from the ground up before Activison decided to ruin the studios' three-year development cycle — have nothing to do with the production.

With Sledgehammer being on the sidelines, the Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII sequel is led by Treyarch (Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops), as Raven (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) is helping the Santa Monica–based developer bring their mysterious vision for "CoD 2020" to life.

Considering that Activision is still planning to release the game this year, it's safe to say that the next Call of Duty — reportedly titled Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War — will be announced sooner rather than later.
