There's no denying that The Pathless is one of the most promising games on the horizon, and if you can't wait to play the original sandbox, Sony has shared over 5 minutes of gameplay footage from the project.
The game's brand-new trailer — which made its debut during yesterday's State of Play event — puts the spotlight on its unique features and stunning universe inhabited by various — often enormous — creatures.
For those unfamiliar with The Pathless, it's being developed by Giant Squid, the renowned makers of ABZÛ.
In the game, you take on the role of the Hunter, a master of archery who embarks on a great journey to lift the curse of darkness that grips her world. The Pathless will arrive on PS4, PS5, and PC sometime this year.
According to the team at Giant Squid, the PS5 version of The Pathless will offer a true next-gen experience, featuring a handful of unexpected innovations and no unpleasant load screens. "We stream our level from the disk as fast as possible, and with the unparalleled power of the PS5’s SSD we can stream in distant parts of the level with no loss of performance," Creative Director Matt Nava said. "Slowly filling progress bars are a thing of the past; the only thing you won’t be able to do is check your phone."
