New MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN: MILES MORALES Image Reveals Insomniac's Next-Gen Take on Puddles
The Puddlegate drama surrounding the debut of Marvel's Spider-Man was one of the most entertaining video game nontroversies in years, and if you want to take a trip down memory lane, Insomniac has shared a new Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales image. Before you ask any important questions, you should know that it features not one, not two, but three natural street puddles, putting its puny predecessor to shame.
What's even better, it appears that said puddles are ray-traced, serving as a showcase of the long-awaited next-gen console's graphical capabilities. As a reminder, the sandbox will be a PlayStation 5 launch title.
"This is a full arc for Miles Morales that started in [Marvel's] Spider-Man," Creative Director Brian Horton explained in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. "We really are completing this hero's coming of age in our game. It is a complete story." Fans of the award-winning original who simply can't wait to take part in Miles' big adventure should keep their expectations in check, as the first PS5 exclusive won't be a full-blown sequel to the 2018 hit, but rather a smaller title akin to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
It's worth remembering that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is not the only major title Insomniac Games is currently working on, as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was also revealed at the recent Future of Play event.
Without further ado, take a look at Miles' beautiful suit — and the aforementioned puddles — down below:
The latest adventure in the Spider-Man universe will build on and expand Marvel’s Spider-Man through an all-new story. Players will experience the rise of Miles Morales as he masters new powers to become his own Spider-Man. With PS5’s ultra-fast SSD, players can near-instantaneously fast-travel across Marvel’s New York City, or feel the tension of each one of Miles’s web-swings, punches, web shots, and venom blasts with the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback. Highly-detailed character models and enhanced visuals across the game intensify the story of Miles Morales as he faces great, new challenges while learning to be his own Spider-Man.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to PlayStation 5 this holiday season.
