Sony Announces GHOST OF TSUSHIMA: LEGENDS — New Co-Op Experience Launching Later This Year

Pretty much out of nowhere, the team at Sony has officially revealed the first big expansion to the critically acclaimed and award-winning sandbox from Sucker Punch Productions — titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
What's even more interesting, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends — which will make its debut sometime in 2020 — is an all-new online co-op experience that will come as a free download for all Ghost of Tsushima owners.
According to Sucker Punch, the original DLC has nothing to do with the base game's main hero — samurai Jin Sakai — instead introducing four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin.
Although Ghost of Tsushima is a pretty grounded adventure, the Legends content drop will be much more fantastical and outlandish, featuring locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology.
"With four players, you’ll be able to take on [...] Survival missions, fighting groups of the toughest enemies Tsushima has to offer, Including new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities," Senior Game Designer Darren Bridges said. "If you can best the Story and Survival missions, you may be confident enough to take on the four-player Raid that will arrive shortly after the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, sending you and your partners to an entirely new realm to challenge a brutal [...] enemy."

The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan—until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting—the way of the Ghost—as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is currently available on PlayStation 4.
