STRONGHOLD: WARLORDS Has Been Delayed to January 2021, Firefly Studios Announces
Firefly Studios has some bad news for all fans of the long-running Stronghold franchise, as the long-awaited Stronghold: Warlords has been pushed back, which means that it won't make its September release date.
Instead of launching on September 29 as originally planned, Stronghold: Warlords will now make its debut on January 26. Considering that the real-time strategy game will allow players to assume control of four unique factions — Vietnam, China, Mongolia, and Japan — Firefly will definitely not waste the extra time.
"We have an important decision regarding Stronghold: Warlords to share with you all today," Firefly officially announced. "It is with great regret that we inform you we will not be able to meet the September 29th release date previously announced for the game. After much deliberation we have now made the very difficult decision to shift the launch of Stronghold: Warlords to January 26th."
"We hadn't intended for the recent global situation to impact our development, and when we announced September 29th as the release date we fully believed we would succeed in meeting it," Firefly continued. "That said, the effect COVID-19 has had on us as individuals, as well as a company, has brought us to the point where we've had to take a step back, assess what areas of development still need work, and make the tough, but necessary decision to delay," the London-based studio added.
Considering that the long-awaited sequel to Stronghold Crusader II will no longer arrive next month, chances are that it will be a while before we learn anything new about the game. Check out Firefly's statement in full:
