HITMAN 3 Will Be Exclusive to Epic Store on PC, Agent 47 Becomes a Private Investigator in Latest Trailer

The long-awaited follow-up to 2018's Hitman 2 is coming to PC exclusively via the Epic Games Store, Danish game developer — and for the first time, also publisher — IO Interactive officially announced earlier today.

"Self-publishing Hitman 3 is a big step for IO Interactive in achieving our highly ambitious goals as an independent studio," IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak said. "Furthermore, this partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create the game exactly as we imagined, for our fans and for our community uncompromised. For our long-term fans that have supported us on the [...] journey, we [...] have mastery and location carryover from their existing progress into Hitman 3 on Epic Games Store."

In other Hitman-related news, those who have not grabbed their own copy of 2016's' reboot of the long-running series yet will be able to get the game for free via the EGS between August 27 and September 3.

That's not all, as IO also released a new Hitman 3 trailer, allowing us to take a look at a unique location — England. The Dartmoor mission will take you to a historical part of the UK that has "a reputation for myths, legends and mysteries." During the game's second questline — inspired by last year's film Knives Out — Agent 47 will assume the role of a private detective to solve a brutal murder — and also eliminate his target.

Agent 47 returns as a ruthless professional in HITMAN 3 for the most important contracts of his entire career. Embark on an intimate journey of darkness and hope in the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy. Death awaits.

Hitman 3 is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS VR, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC (via the EGS) in January 2021.
