Alex Mason Returns in CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS: COLD WAR Reveal Trailer; FPS Launches November 13

As promised, Activision has released the first — and obviously action-packed — trailer and new screenshots for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, the long-rumoured direct sequel to Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

According to Activision, the newly revealed FPS will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, with its PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X versions launching at a later date. Unfortunately for some players, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War's Xbox One edition can't be upgraded to the next-gen version — but PS4 owners will still be able to get a digital copy of the game's next-gen edition for free. 2020's Call of Duty will also cost more on new consoles — but the new shooter's current-gen (and PC) port will be priced at $59.99.

The upcoming cross-gen FPS is being created by Treyarch (online modes), Raven Software (campaign), with additional development by High Moon Studios, Beenox, Activision Shanghai, and Sledgehammer Games.

When it comes to the story mode, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will allow fans to visit Vietnam, Turkey, and East Berlin, reuniting them with "legendary operatives Alex Mason, Frank Woods and Jason Hudson as they’re pulled into a high-stakes conspiracy. Joined by a new cast of characters and faced with threats from the past, players will uncover a subversive plot with devastating global implications."

Obviously, players will also be able to join forces and kill hordes of the undead in the beloved zombie mode.

As a reminder, the first Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War gameplay footage — apparently running on PS5 — will be shown off tomorrow, at the gamescom: Opening Night Live event that will start on August 27 at 11AM PDT / 8PM CEST. In the meantime, take a look at the aforementioned images and video down below:
