KING’S BOUNTY II Has Been Pushed Back to March 2021; Sequel Will Be Published by Deep Silver
1C Entertainment has revealed that King's Bounty II will be published by Deep Silver — but the long-awaited sequel won't make its debut later this year as originally planned, and will now be released in March instead.
Although King's Bounty II won't be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) anytime soon, it doesn't necessarily mean that the Moscow-based developer will go dark from now on, as the highly anticipated follow-up to King’s Bounty: The Legend will be shown off at this year's gamescom.
Considering that King's Bounty II will be a big departure from the previous games, it's safe to say that both 1C Entertainment and Deep Silver will use the upcoming occasion to shine a new light on the sequel's biggest innovations, including an over-the-shoulder camera that will push the IP in a Skyrim-like direction.
Thankfully, King's Bounty II will still share many similarities with other popular turn-based strategy games like XCOM 2 and Othercide, so even longtime fans of the series should get used to its fresh formula fairly quick.
As a friendly reminder, gamescom 2020's digital area will be open to all visitors from August 27-30. During the event's Opening Night Live — which will take place this Thursday at 8PM CEST — the world's biggest publishers will put the spotlight on their new titles such as Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Offering a fresh take on the acclaimed fantasy series, King’s Bounty 2 expands upon its tactical turn-based battles to offer players a truly immersive RPG experience that adds weight to their every decision, whether leading an army into battle against unliving horrors, or building relations with local townsfolk. Experience a rich world that blends realism and fantasy, filled with compelling stories, memorable characters and moral choices aplenty!
King's Bounty II is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) in March 2021.
