Game developer and publisher Codemasters is ramping up the DiRT 5 marketing campaign, this time giving us a chance to take a closer look at the fast-approaching game's powerful arena creator, called Playgrounds.
According to Codemasters, the brand-new Playgrounds mode will allow you to design your very own tracks and events — and obviously also check out the colourful arenas created and shared by other DiRT 5 players.
Considering that DiRT 5 is being created by many members of the team behind MotorStorm and Onrush, it shouldn't be surprising that the arena creator will feature some pretty crazy elements, including... vampires?
"From custom gymkhana arenas, to bespoke time trial races, to [...] treasure hunt events, use a huge suite of objects (from drift zones and jumps, to rings of fire and loop-de-loops) to invent [...] unique Playgrounds," the studio said. "Browse our database of player-generated designs to constantly find new racing experiences, with Featured areas regularly updated to showcase the very best creations."
What's even better, your creations on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be carried over when you decide to purchase their next-gen successors. To learn more about the Playgrounds mode, check out this new trailer:
DIRT 5 is the boldest off-road racing experience created by Codemasters. Blaze a trail on routes across the world, covering gravel, ice, snow and sand, with a roster of cars ranging from rally icons to trucks, to GT heroes. With a star-studded Career, four-player split-screen, innovative online modes, livery editor and more new features, DIRT 5 is the next generation of extreme racing.
DiRT 5 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) on October 16, 2020; will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year; will arrive on Google Stadia in 2021.
