Modus Studios Brazil Is Officially Working on Cross-Gen OVERRIDE 2: SUPER MECH LEAGUE

Override: Mech City Brawl may have missed the mark here and there, but publisher Modus Games is willing to give the Transformers: Devastation–like series another shot — and has announced its full-blown sequel.

Override 2: Super Mech League — which was officially revealed during yesterday's gamescom: Opening Night Live digital show — is a cross-gen production that will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and also PC (exclusively via Steam) sometime this December.

Developed by Modus Studios Brazil (formerly The Balance), Override 2: Super Mech League will introduce a plethora of major improvements over the 2018 original — and also a fully-fledged career mode set seven years after the "ending" of the first — multiplayer-focused (for the most part) — entry in the game series.

"Override 2 includes 20 mechs at launch with a handful of brand-new mechs and a revamped set of returning bots," Community Manager Lucas Croft told the PlayStation Blog. "One of the new mechs making their debut is Aura, a deadly, but graceful brawler with powerful and mesmerizing ranged attacks. Sprinkles is also a newcomer with a certain ‘sweetness’ to her moves and is equipped with a gigantic gum ball cannon powerful enough to batter metal. Override 2 features a slew of match types including 1v1 ranked, 2v2 matches, and free for all battles of up to four players locally and online."

Considering that Override 2: Super Mech League will make its debut later this year, we will definitely learn a whole lot more about its core features and modes — and maybe more importantly, its roster — in the near future. In the meantime, take a closer look at the sequel's action-packed announcement trailer down below:
