Action-Spellcasting Game SPELLBREAK Is Coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC This Thursday

Boston-based game developer and publisher Proletariat has announced that the long-awaited Spellbreak will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) on September 3.

According to the team responsible for Streamline and World Zombination, their next major production is a multiplayer action-spellcasting game (think Lichdom: Battlemage meets Paladins). What's even better, the fast-approaching Spellbreak is also a free-to-play title that will fully support cross-play across all platforms.

In Proletariat's biggest project to date, you will choose one of six character classes — namely the Frostborn, Conduit, Pyromancer, Toxicologist, Stoneshaper, or Tempest — and master their unique abilities — including flying and controlling time — to outsmart your enemies. If you manage to learn how to fully control two magic gauntlets, you will also have a chance to create your own powerful spell combinations Magicka-style.

Considering that Spellbreak releases this Thursday, we should learn a lot more about its core features in the near future — and you can always join the game's Discord to ask the team some questions about their title.

To celebrate the official reveal of Spellbreak's release date, Proletariat has shared this colourful launch trailer:
