Chernobylite and STALKER 2 are not the only post-apocalyptic video games that should be on your radar, as PolyAmorous' Paradise Lost is shaping up to be one of the most unique walking simulators of this year.
If it's the first time you're hearing about Paradise Lost, it's an Everybody's Gone to the Rapture–like title that allows you to take on the role of a 12-year old boy and explore an abandoned bunker somewhere deep in Central Europe. In the game's frozen universe, the Second World War ended with a bang — a nuclear one.
Paradise Lost — which will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2020 — takes place years after Germany's fatal decision to nuke the Old Continent's largest cities. In the game, players will try to learn what happened to the last survivors of the apocalypse, and why the ruined shelter is filled with dead bodies.
If you just can't wait to play it, publisher All in! Games has released two action-packed Paradise Lost trailers.
The first video is a truly stunning cinematic trailer that puts the spotlight on the moment the bombs hit the ground. The other trailer focuses on "The Last Story on Earth Series" — "a variety of historical documents" — shared every Monday and Thursday on the production's social media channels — that will "shed some light on the mysterious events that lead to the nuclear wasteland that Paradise Lost takes place in."
