THE LAST OF US Star Troy Baker Joins THE MEDIUM Voice Cast as the Villainous Maw
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: The Medium
During this year's gamescom, Bloober Team shared some new details about The Medium, the Cracow-based developer and publisher's original take on Silent Hill, which will arrive on Xbox Series X and PC later in 2020.
First of all, the Observer: System Redux studio officially announced that Troy Baker (Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, The Last of Us Part II) will lend his voice talents to The Medium. In Bloober's third-person adventure, the award-winning actor will portray The Maw — the next-gen horror's primary villain. According to Baker, The Maw is one scary beast and an awful personification of Marianne's — the main protagonist — deepest fears.
Due to the pandemic, the renowned actor has not been able to take part in the necessary motion capture sessions to bring the creature to life. Fortunately, the Polish team has managed to find a fine solution to the unexpected problem — as The Maw is played by a different actor, with Baker delivering his lines from home.
According to the Diablo III star, he's always wanted to become a monster — and it sounds like challenging his inner inter-dimensional beast lived up to his expectations. As a reminder, Baker is no stranger to playing charismatic villains, as he also portrayed The Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins and Pagan Min in Far Cry 4.

Become a medium living in two worlds: the real and the spirit one. Haunted by a vision of a child’s murder, you travel to an abandoned hotel resort, which years ago became the stage of an unthinkable tragedy. There you begin your search for difficult answers. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a wider perspective and can see more clearly that there’s no one simple truth to what others perceive. Nothing is what it seems, everything has an other side.
The Medium is coming to Xbox Series X and PC (via Steam) this holiday season.
