Cold Symmetry's Ambitious Masocore MORTAL SHELL Gets Action-Packed Accolades Trailer

Playstack has shared yet another trailer for the recently released masocore game Mortal Shell, focusing on all the good reviews the Cold Symmetry–developed project has been getting since its big launch last month.

Considering that the 15-strong team's ambitious answer to FromSoftware's most popular franchise is one of the best-reviewed masocore games of the year — currently sitting at a great 77% score on Metacritic — fans of unforgiving titles like Demon's Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should definitely give it a fair chance.

It's worth remembering that the Steam version of Mortal Shell will make its debut at some point next year.

Priced at $29.99, Mortal Shell takes place in a dark, shattered world where the remains of humanity wither and rot. Always outnumbered and seriously outgunned, the main protagonist will have to find a way to awaken the ghosts of fallen heroes — and learn from their mistakes — to survive in the hostile environment.

Without further ado, take a closer look at the aforementioned accolades trailer for Mortal Shell down below:

Awakening as an empty vessel, you will enter into a shattered and twisted world where the remains of humanity wither and rot. Implored to do the bidding of the mysterious “Dark Father”, you must traverse this tattered landscape and track down hidden sanctums of devout followers. There, in Mortal Shell’s most hallowed grounds, you must overcome formidable foes and harvest the sacred glands. You won’t be truly alone when the dead litter your path: Scattered across this land are the remnant anima of lost warriors who can be inhabited to gain their unique abilities and knowledge of weapons. The Dark Father is desperate for you to complete your task — but to what end?

Mortal Shell is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via the EGS); arrives on Steam in 2021.
