Ruthless Russian Spetsnaz Unit Returns in New GHOST RECON BREAKPOINT: RED PATRIOT Event

Ubisoft Paris is still trying their hardest to make their critically panned Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint actually enjoyable, this time announcing that its next expansion will see the arrival of the villainous Bodarks.

That's right, the deadly Russian separatist group introduced in 2012's Ghost Recon Future Solider will return in Breakpoint to initiate some kind of attack on American soil. During their action-packed quest to stop the Red Patriot and his forces, the Ghosts will engage in a branching storyline with optional mission objectives.

Unfortunately, only the first two missions of Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Red Patriot are free to all owners of the base game. To experience the whole package — which includes ten unique assignments — you will need to purchase the Year One Pass (priced at $39.99), which also gives you access to the big Deep State campaign.

Thankfully, the upcoming Title Update 3.0 — which will arrive on September 15 — will also feature some major quality-of-life improvements, a fresh Ghost War PvP map, 246 high-quality rewards, and a brand-new class: the Pathfinder. According to the French studio, they can "control an Azraёl drone via their Armaros Interface ability. Additionally, the Pathfinder has a [...] tool called the Uplink Protocol, which refills their skill gauge (but is only found in hidden tactical caches). The passive skills at the Pathfinder’s disposal include Tactical Cache Identification (which highlights caches), Scout Vision (allows for white-hot thermal vision), and Wild Metabolism (rations last longer and are more powerful)."

Without further ado, take a closer look at this all-new trailer for the Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Red Patriot DLC:

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa. Choose the right alliances and decide how to take down your toughest enemy.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC (via Uplay and the Epic Games Store).
