New Batch of PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME REMAKE Concept Art Has Found Its Way Online
Considering that Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake is the first true big-budget game created fully in India, it shouldn't be surprising that Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai will try to put a new spin on an old story.
For those unfamiliar with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time — which is rightfully remembered as one of the best games of 2003 — its story begins with the unstoppable Persian army's attack on the Maharaja's empire.
Although Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time takes place mostly in a ruined, monster-infested Palace of Azad, the teams at Ubisoft India are planning to make their biggest game to date a bit more colourful and vibrant to reflect the studio's unique background. "If you take the game that was made 17 years ago, there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of graphism and we really wanted to give a unique look to the game because Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is actually is a fantasy story,” Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Game Director Pierre-Sylvain Gires said in an interview with The Mako Reactor.
"The narration, the 40 different levels you have to go through to finish [it] are an immersion into The Thief of Baghdad and all these magical environments. We decided to go for a unique visual treatment to make this game standout from other games. It’s not another Assassin’s Creed, it’s not like the same Prince of Persia from 2008. It has to be unique. This magic [...] is shown through the saturation, the light, so it also a challenge to redefine the visual identity of the game with this remake," he added.
With Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake hitting stores early next year — on January 21, 2021, to be exact — it's safe to say that we will learn a whole lot more about Ubisoft India's take on the Assassin's Creed predecessor in the near future — and most definitely during the next Ubisoft Forward digital event.
To make the painful wait a little easier, the French publisher has shared some never-before-seen Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake concept art, allowing us to take a closer look at the reimagined Tower of Dawn. That's not all, as two new character renders for the Prince and Farah have also find their way online:
Embark on a journey as the Prince to prevent the powerful Sands of Time from falling into the hands of the treacherous Vizier. Master the Sands of Time and use your dagger to control time itself. Fight cursed enemies and solve puzzles along the way. Experience the original epic tale of the Prince on his journey for redemption. Travel back in time with the return of the Prince's original voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, and discover a brave new Farah.
Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Uplay and the EGS) on January 21, 2021.
