Playing Nathan Drake in UNCHARTED Is Everything Tom Holland Ever Dreamed It Would Be

According to Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), playing the main protagonist in the Uncharted movie — which was supposed to make its big debut back in June 2017 — is something he has always dreamed of.

"Filming is going so well, it is going so well," the Avengers: Endgame actor said during a recent chat with his fans on Instagram. "The film is, like, everything I ever dreamed it would be. You know, I don't know if you guys played the games but I was such a huge fan of the games and it's been going so well."

"I do have the biggest bruise of all time though, on my leg, but it's in a bit of a revealing area for Instagram Live – I think I would get shut down by Instagram, [...] it is a glorious bruise," he added.

Unlike the main franchise, Ruben Fleischer's original take on Uncharted will shine a new light on Drake's first adventure, focusing on his once-in-a-lifetime friendship with Sully, played by Mark Wahlberg (Patriots Day).

Considering that the team at Sony Pictures has finally started shooting Uncharted in Germany and Spain again — following a truly unfortunate series of major COVID-19–related setbacks — chances are that the long-delayed adaptation of Naughty Dog's beloved game series will indeed hit theaters on July 16, 2021.
