Second Trailer for Capcom's RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE Focuses on Monster-Infested Eastern Europe

Capcom has released yet another intense trailer for Resident Evil Village, this time focusing mostly on Chris Redfield and Ethan Winters' fierce fight for survival in the titular village somewhere deep in Eastern Europe.

Unlike previous Resident Evil games, the 8th numbered entry in the beloved series won't task players with fighting only zombies, as the game will introduce a plethora of never-before-seen monsters — seemingly inspired by Slavic mythology — including witches, werewolves, and even beasts possessed by... Baba Yaga?

According to Capcom, the actual village plays a pivotal role in the game, as the vast majority of its residents hide many dark secrets — and learning more about their past will shine a new light on the series as a whole.

Although we still know next to nothing about the long-awaited horror, the fact that Resident Evil Village will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC next year suggests that the Japanese game developer and publisher will share some brand-new details about their first true next-gen adventure in the coming months.

The next generation of survival horror rises in the form of Resident Evil Village, the eighth major entry in the Resident Evil series. With ultra-realistic graphics powered by the RE Engine, fight for survival as danger lurks around every corner. Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.

Resident Evil Village is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam) in 2021.
