MAFIA: DEFINITIVE EDITION Gets Launch Trailer Focusing on a Taxi Driver's Road to Damnation
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
The long-awaited Mafia: Definitive Edition is finally available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and to celebrate the release of Hangar 13's new title, 2K has shared an action-packed launch trailer for the remake.
Developed by the team responsible for Mafia III, the brand-new production is a remake of the 2002 classic focused on the story of Tommy Angelo, a cab driver who's forced to join forces with the Salieri Crime Family.
Currently sitting at a perfectly fine 76% score on Metacritic, Hangar 13's Mafia: Definitive Edition seems to be a reasonable alternative to other open-world video games that will hit stores later this year — but those who expect yet another "Ubigame" should know that the remake is faithful to the source material, which means that you can forget about countless side missions, optional objectives, and a tonne of little things to collect.
Rumour has it that Hangar 13 is already working on a Mafia IV, which will apparently take place in a fictional town inspired by Las Vegas. Sadly, 2K has not revealed any official details about a follow-up to Mafia III yet.
Be sure to take a closer look at the aforementioned launch trailer for Mafia: Definitive Edition down below:
Re-made from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime. After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about falling in with the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon finds that the rewards are too big to ignore.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and EGS).
