Paul W. S. Anderson's MONSTER HUNTER Gets First Teaser Trailer and December Release Window

The first teaser trailer for the long-delayed Monster Hunter adaptation has finally been released online — and it's not the only good news Sony Pictures has in store for fans of Capcom's long-running game series.

Although the flick was supposed to make its debut on April 23, the short video reveals that Monster Hunter will now arrive in theaters this December — which is a pretty interesting move given that every single major film has been delayed to 2021 to avoid tanking at the box office like the recently released Tenet and Mulan.

As a reminder, the project lost its original release date (September 4) as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Alien vs. Predator), Monster Hunter follows the story of Liutenant Artemis (Milla Jovovich) who gets transported to a dangerous new planet. Joined by her trusty team (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta), she embarks on a wild journey to put an end to an interdimensional threat that could destroy both worlds; and also kill every huge beast that gets in her way.

Considering that Paul W. S. Anderson's next big-budget flick based on a popular Capcom franchise is pretty much finished, there's a "big" chance that his take on Monster Hunter will indeed hit theaters later this year.

Without further ado, take a look at the action-packed teaser trailer for the Monster Hunter film down below:
