After two major leaks, Electronic Arts has finally decided to officially announce Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - Remastered, a brand-new version of the fan-favourite racing game originally created by Criterion Games.
The publisher has revealed that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - Remastered arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam or Origin) on November 6, with its Nintendo Switch port hitting stores on November 13.
Developed by Stellar Entertainment — the studio responsible for Burnout Paradise Remastered — the fast-approaching arcade racing game will include an upgraded version of the original title, 3 DLC packs — Armed & Dangerous, Lamborghini Untamed, and Porsche Unleashed — and also more than 30 challenges delivering an extra 6 hours of gameplay. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - Remastered will be priced at $39.99.
The newly announced remaster will also support cross-play (powered by Autolog) between all platforms.
According to Criterion Games Vice President Matt Webster, the remake of "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was ahead of its time when it released in 2010 as we built an automatic comparison and friend recommendation system in the game before that type of thing became a norm in today’s world. Now, we’re delighted to be bringing that spirit of timeless racing competition back to new platforms and players where they can connect, compare and compete no matter what platform they’re on, even on the go this time with the Nintendo Switch. Fueled by Autolog and some of the world’s most desirable and classic supercars, this will create the most heart-pumping socially competitive racing experience.”
