20th Century Studios has released a brand-new trailer for the long-awaited Free Guy, an original adventure-comedy starring Ryan Reynolds (Life, The Hitman's Bodyguard) and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The Last Duel).
Directed by Shawn Levy (Date Night, Real Steel), Free Guy tells the story of Guy, an extraordinary NPC who decides to break the conditioning and become something more than just a side character in a video game.
During the epic journey to save his hometown from a real-world threat — represented by the villainous CEO of a video game company (played by Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi) — Guy will have a chance to learn more about the dangers of being an NPC in a fictional city inspired by Saints Row, Grand Theft Auto, and Fortnite.
Interestingly enough, Free Guy is not the only big flick based on video games Reynolds is involved in, as the Deadpool star is also working on a big-budget adaptation of 1983's interactive film Dragon's Lair for Netflix.
