Warhorse Studios Is Working on a Movie or TV Series Based on KINGDOM COME: DELIVERANCE
Pretty much out of nowhere, Warhorse Studios announces that is has teamed up with Wild Sheep Content for a film or TV series based on the Prague-based video game developer's RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
The newly revealed project will be produced by Erik Barmack — a former Netflix executive who oversaw the production and distribution of the streaming giant's international originals — and his Wild Sheep Content.
According to Barmack, he tries to focus on “amazing, non-US worlds that are locally relevant, but with a regional and global popularity that streamers are looking for as they become more and more global.”
"It’s especially interesting that video games with heavy narrative, like [CD Projekt's] The Witcher and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, are uniquely adaptable, and local but global all at once," Barmack added.
Interestingly enough, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not the only video game adaptation Barmack is working on, as he's also actively developing a cinematic experience set in the beloved world of Sega's Yakuza series.
When it comes to Warhorse's plans for a sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance — which has sold more than 3 million units since its launch in February 2018 — the company has been keeping their cards close to their chest but it's pretty safe to say that said follow-up will be revealed by THQ Nordic sooner rather than later.
