CI Games' LORDS OF THE FALLEN 2 Definitely Won't Launch Until 2022 (at the Earliest)
The troubled follow-up to Lords of the Fallen may have been in the works for years now, but CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński has confirmed that the Souls-like project won't be launching anytime soon, unfortunately.
According to Tymiński, it will be a good while before Lords of the Fallen 2 sees the light of day, as the long-awaited sequel definitely won't make its debut in 2021. During a Polish investor Q&A on Thursday, he also revealed that Lords of the Fallen 2 is one of the biggest, if not the biggest title CI Games has ever produced.
To finally make the sequel happen, the Warsaw-based company recently opened two studios in Barcelona and Bucharest under the Hexworks umbrella. The young teams are led by Creative Director Cezar Virtosu (Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier) and Executive Producer Saul Gascon Barba (The Walking Dead).
For those unfamiliar with the drama surrounding Lords of the Fallen 2, it was originally supposed to be made by New York–based Defiant Studios. After nearly two years of a mostly unfruitful development, CI Games decided to part ways with Defiant and bring it back to Poland. The game resumed production back in March.
It's worth remembering that CI Games is simultaneously developing two major video games: Lords of the Fallen 2 and Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2, which will arrive on PS4, PS5, XBO, XS & PC early next year.
