THE MEDIUM: Zdzisław Beksiński's Curious Imagination Comes to Life in New Concept Art

Following the official announcement of The Medium's release date, Polish game developer and publisher Bloober Team has unveiled two never-before-seen pieces of concept art for their long-awaited production.

You don't need an art degree to instantly notice that the newly released art shares many similarities with Zdzisław Beksiński's truly twisted paintings. It probably shouldn't come as surprise, as Beksiński was a Polish artist and The Medium takes place mostly in Cracow, which happens to be Poland's most visited city.

Interestingly enough, the curious works of one of the most unique painters of the last century is not the only original source of inspiration for the title, as it's also influenced by Salvador Dalí's mould-breaking projects.

With The Medium finally coming to Xbox Series S/X and PC (via both Steam and Epic Store) on December 10 — it's worth remembering that Bloober Team officially revealed the title back in 2012 — it's safe to say that we will learn a whole lot more about the Layers of Fear studio's next-gen horror in the coming weeks.
