DEMON'S SOULS Shines in Spectacular Release Trailer; First Major PS5 Exclusive Is Now Available

The long-awaited remake of Demon's Souls is coming to PS5 on day one, giving fans of masocore games the chance to put their skills to the test, while simultaneously learning more about the console's unique features.

According to Sony, the new version of Demon's Souls puts the machine's cutting-edge capabilities to good use, as the game allows players to choose between two different graphics modes — one prioritising 60FPS, with the 4K mode focusing mostly on a higher resolution and awe-inspiring visuals — and channel their inner survivor like never before, thanks to the DualSense controller's adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

"On behalf of the entire team, I’d like to say that it has been a privilege over the past three years to work on Demon’s Souls," Creative Director Gavin Moore said. "It’s been humbling to bring new life to a PlayStation classic so that fans of the original and a whole new generation of gamers can experience this timeless legend." It's worth remembering that the award-winning original arrived on PS3 back in 2009.

"We've always been thinking about remaking Demon’s Souls for [...] years, but we never felt we could do it justice. But with the power of next-gen, we felt that we were ready to take on that challenge, one which we met face on. It’s been an honour to create a launch title on PlayStation 5," Moore added.

Although the original was created by FromSoftware (Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice), its remake was co-developed by two studios responsible for Gravity Rush Remastered and 2018's Shadow of the Colossus: Bluepoint Games (Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection) and SIE Japan Studio (Knack, The Last Guardian).
