WATCH DOGS LEGION's Unique Online Component Won't Be Releasing This Year After All

Although Ubisoft was planing to release Watch Dogs Legion's multiplayer modes later this year, it's officially no longer the case, as the Ubisoft Toronto crew needs more time to make sure that they work perfectly fine.

That's right, you'll need to wait to download the title's first free expansion — which will introduce a new co-op mode for up to 4 players — and wreak havoc in the fan-favourite Spiderbot Arena with other hackers.

According to the French publisher, the all-new game's online component will now be arriving in early 2021.

Those who prefer strictly single-player experiences should be happy to hear that the Canadian team is also working on some original solo missions for all players. Unfortunately, fans of Aiden Pearce and Wrench will need to purchase the Season Pass — currently priced at $39.99 — to liberate London as the explosive duo.

Said Season Pass will also grant you access to never-before-seen abilities and a distinctive Dedsec car skin.

Take it with a pinch of salt, but there's a chance that Sam Fisher himself — you know, the iconic protagonist of the sadly forgotten Splinter Cell game series — will join the ever-expanding roster of playable heroes in the recently released sandbox — probably as a premium DLC character — at some point next year as well.
