Futuristic Egypt Needs a New Kind of Hero in First Trailer for The Initiative' PERFECT DARK Reboot

Secret Agent Joanna Dark is officially back with a bang, as Microsoft has announced yet another Xbox Game Studios–created video game — and this time around, it's a spiritual successor to the spy thriller Perfect Dark.
The third major entry in the fan-favourite Perfect Dark franchise is coming to Xbox Series X|S. Unlike the first two games, the long-awaited remake is being developed by The Initiative, Microsoft's Santa Monica-based studio. Perfect Dark is their very first major production, and has been in the works for at least two years now.
The title's release date is a mystery, but we do know that it'll be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Although the upcoming game doesn't seem to have any strong ties to the award-winning 2000 original and 2005's Perfect Dark Zero (at least plot-wise), it will still be a fully fledged FPS with heavy emphasis on stealth.
"With Perfect Dark, we are aiming to deliver a secret agent thriller set in a near-future world," Studio Head Darrell Gallagher said. "We have built the Perfect Dark team at The Initiative by bringing in some of the most talented game makers from around the industry who all share a passion for storytelling, world-building and creating memorable game experiences. With the full backing from Xbox Studios to re-imagine one of the best loved IPs from gaming history, we could not be more excited to share some of our early ideas." Although we know surprisingly little about the newly announced reboot, there's no denying that Microsoft has managed to assemble a truly wonderful development team to bring it to life.
According to the company (via VGC), Perfect Dark is being made by Gallagher (Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Deus Ex: Human Revolution), Game Director Daniel Neuburger (Tomb Raider, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light), Design Director Drew Murray (Resistance 3, Sunset Overdrive), Lead Level Designer Chris O’Neill (God of War, Metal Gear Solid V: TPP), Lead Artist Jason Priest (Marvel's Spider-Man, Homefront) and many others.
