ESSEX: THE WHALE HUNTER - Ultimate Games Announces New Simulation Game Inspired by MOBY-DICK

Ultimate Games has officially announced Essex: The Whale Hunter, a completely original simulation game that will give you the unique chance to channel your inner adventurer and freely explore the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Interestingly, the project is inspired by Herman Melville's Moby-Dick — and just like the beloved novel, Essex will shine a new light on the challenges every self-respecting whaling ship captain has to face.

Essex: The Whale Hunter is being made by Warsaw-based 3T Games, a young team that's also working on Smuggler Simulator — an original title that will allow you to experience what it's like to be a smuggler.

"In Essex: The Whale Hunter, players will embark on a unique journey through a world that no longer exists," 3T Games CEO Rafał Jelonek said. "The bulk of the action will take place on the Atlantic, but we will also visit the island of Nantucket — which could be described as the Wall Street of 19th-century whaling. Herman Melville’s masterpiece serves as our main inspiration during development, and we are striving to properly capture the [...] nature of this multi-dimensional novel," the executive added.

According to the Polish video game publisher, Essex: The Whale Hunter will arrive on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (exclusively via Steam) at some point in 2023.

While we're patiently waiting for more details about Essex: The Whale Hunter, take a closer look at the action-packed announcement trailer and first screenshots for the newly announced simulator down below:
