Sony and id Software have great news for all fans of classic shooters and the PlayStation VR system, as Doom 3: VR Edition will give them the chance to experience the glory of one of the most controversial video games ever made like never before. It's worth remembering that the original Doom 3 launched back in 2004.
The PS VR–exclusive FPS will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 29, 2021. Doom 3: VR Edition will include not only Doom 3, but also its two expansions, Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission.
According to the developer, Doom 3: VR Edition will allow you to "peer around corners, angling your shots with flashlight-mounted weapons using motion controls, 180-degree quick-turn functionality to catch demons sneaking up from behind and an immersive wrist-mounted display to track your health, armor and ammo. Combined with the original Doom 3’s critically acclaimed blend of action and horror gameplay, virtual reality fans are in for one Hell of an experience with Doom 3: VR Edition."
Doom 3: VR Edition is not the only brand-new VR experience coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in the next few months, as After the Fall (a co-op shooter from the award-winning creators of Arizona Sunshine), Zenith (an original MMO inspired by classic jRPG games), I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy And The Liar (a sequel to the beloved puzzle game set in the Cold War era), Fracked (a unique first-person shooter featuring a whole lot of running, skiing, and climbing), and Song in the Smoke (a survival game where your well-being is literally in your hands) will all make their way to PS4 & PS5 in 2021. That's a pretty nice line-up, all things considered.
