Vancouver-Based The Coalition Is Dedicated to Pushing GEARS OF WAR Series to

The Gears of War franchise has been an integral part of the Xbox experience ever since the debut of the Epic Games–developed original back in 2006, and it seems that the team at The Coalition is already hard at work on brand-new Gears video games. The news itself is hardly surprising, we do know that.

The Coalition is hiring, and a new job listing posted on the official Careers at Microsoft website reveals that the studio is "dedicated to pushing the Gears franchise to new heights with its belief that if you want to go far, go together" — so it's safe to say that a follow-up to Gears 5 is in development at the Canadian studio.

The Vancouver-based crew is responsible for two big Gears of War video games, Gears of War 4 and Gears 5.

The most recent entry in the Gears of War series — titled Gears Tactics — arrived on PC in April and Xbox One and Xbox Series in November. Upon release, Splash Damage's prequel to the first Gears of War received very positive reviews — and remains one of the most acclaimed turn-based strategy games in recent memory.

Between Turn 10 Studios' Forza Motorsport, Playground's Fable, 343 Industries' Halo Infinite, The Initiative's Perfect Dark, and The Coalition's next Gears of War, it's clear that Microsoft is ready to revive even the oldest Xbox series (wink-wink) to create a strong line-up of exclusives that may be even bigger than that of Sony.
